A custom design/rebuild: two rosaries into one
This rosary was created from the parts and beads of two different rosaries. The 10mm Paters are natural red coral and the 8mm Aves are lapis lazuli. The gold-plated center and crucifix were supplied by the owner, as were the St. Michael medal and the Divine Mercy locket (which holds family items dear to the owner).
The owner asked if I would do the orbit-style wrap that was on the original somewhat-worse-for-wear rosaries that he sent, and I figured out how to do it for him. The owner is a Marine and he wanted the rosary to be reminiscent of their iconic uniform; I chose the bead caps. The rosary is wrapped in 14/20 gold-filled wire, with the Aves having the orbit wrap and the Paters having the standard full wrap on each end.
I appreciated the owner’s patience as we worked out the details over Passiontide through Easter Week; as a schola director, that is a very busy time of year for me! I think the finished rosary is beautiful yet masculine, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn a new style of wire wrapping.

Patricia did a awesome Job on the re-make of this Rosary. The Marine Corps Dress Blue Trousers symbolizes Sea Service coming from the Sea, with the Blood Stripe down the trouser signifying the Blood Shed by Marines fighting our Nations wars. The Center piece is the Gates of Heaven. Marines when they die Guard the Gates of Heaven. I served 25 years and took similar Rosary with me during deployments. I wanted to capture the Treasure of Faith, Trust & Love that the Rosary is. During numerous deployments I believe that Jesus used the Marines to help those who needed help…. Where else does any Military provide this Kinda of Love for fellow man without being guided by the will of God! This Rosary captures this and is truly my inspiration, Thanks to Patricia for doing such a wonderful job, I highly recommend her and her abilities and willingness to try new things which help this dream come true. She is truly a blessing from our Lord.
