Custom March birthstone rosary, Op.23
This March-birthstone rosary has 8mm aquamarine jade Aves and composite Paters of aqua-rose tensha beads surrounded by silver-plated rose beads and 4mm aqua crystal bicones. The purchaser requested medals of St. Cecilia, patron of musicians, and St. Catherine of Bologna, her daughter’s Confirmation patron saint. A modern St. Catherine of Bologna center in sterling was found (as she is not one of the popular saints in the 19th and 20th centuries for whom I would have or could find an antique or vintage medal). A silver-plate antique St. Cecilia medal with an earth relic from the catacombs and a sterling scapular medal were added as well. A reproduction antiqued silver-plated crucifix completes the rosary.
I have more of the aquamarine jade Aves (in a slightly darker blue) and the aqua-rose tensha beads and accent beads that comprise the Paters, as well as true aquamarine beads for anyone interested in a March birthstone rosary.
