Description

(SOLD.  The emerald crystals are in stock for a custom rosary request.)

The shield-shaped Scapular center and crucifix with radiant arms are sterling pieces rescued from a broken vintage rosary, probably from the middle third of the 20th century, and they are in excellent shape.  The Sacred Heart is on the front of the center, with a large Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on the reverse.  The crucifix has a plain back, so could easily be engraved for personalization.

The Ave beads are 8mm emerald-colored Preciosa crystals and the 10x13mm Pater beads are unusual lampwork beads: the core is green glass wrapped with a wide silver strip, and the bead itself is clear. Their shape is sometimes referred to as ‘Baroque’ like a Baroque pearl, a smooth but uneven surface as opposed to round or faceted. The Paters are set off by bright silver-plated daisy spacers and pale green pearl-finished seed beads.

The rosary is fully wire-wrapped in 1/10 sterling-filled wire with unbreakable loops, including the links joining the decades and parts.

This rosary would be a lovely May birthday rosary.
