Description

Introducing the traditional Tenner, a single-decade pocket rosary, with the addition of an anchor chain, hook, and four-way medal.

Normally a tenner only consists of ten Ave beads (hence its name) without a Pater bead; occasionally there may be a medal.

This tenner has 8mm black-onyx-colored glass disk beads as the Aves. A vintage four-way medal from Lourdes has been added on one end.  This is an unusual medal: on the front it has St Bernadette at the top, the basilica and the Grotto on the arms, and the front of the Miraculous Medal at the bottom, while the reverse has the text 1858 Centenaire des Apparitions LOURDES 1958. The medal is aluminum and shows some slight discoloration on the reverse.

A silver-plated curb chain and sterling hook finish the other end.  All wire-wrapping is sterling-filled wire; the chain is attached with a split ring so that it may be removed if desired.

This tenner is meant to be carried in a pocket, with the chain threaded through a belt loop and closed around it with the hook.  A lobster clasp, one-inch carabiner, or pocket clip may be substituted for the hook upon request.  It would also work as an auto rosary with the chain wrapped around the rearview mirror.

Tenners can be created in any of the available Ave beads on the Sample Ave Beads page; please inquire.

Additional medals are also available.
