Description
This onyx rosary is beautiful in its classical simplicity. Round onyx beads (8mm) are used for the Aves, while the Paters are 10mm grey shell pearls set off with silver-plated pewter star-shaped bead caps.
The vintage center has an Etruscan-cameo-styled Sacred Head on one side and the face of Our Lady on the other, surrounded by a radiating border; it appears to be pewter with an antiqued-silverplate finish. The crucifix fleuree has a bright silver finish (perhaps rhodium plate?) on the cross and a duller silver finish (antiqued silver-plate, most likely) on the corpus. Both show slight wear, the crucifix more than the center.
The rosary is fully wire-wrapped with 22 gauge sterling-filled wire, including the 3mm crystal links that connect the center and crucifix to the rosary.
This rosary can be replicated with different center and crucifix as well as different Paters.
