This heart-themed rosary of teal-colored ocean agates marries a sterling heart-shaped Scapular medal as the center with silver-plated filigree-style heart beads for the Paters and a silver-plated reproduction crucifix fleurée (‘flowering’, describing the ends of the arms of the crucifix which have flower buds surrounded with scrolling leaves that give a heart-shaped effect).
The heart-shaped Scapular has the Sacred Heart on half of the front, coupled with a branch with round buds; these may have originally been filled with tiny rhinestones or paste gems. The reverse has the icon of Our Lady of Mount Carmel behind the Sacred Heart, and an engraved version of the flowering branch on the front.
The Ave beads are teal-colored ‘ocean’ agates; they were heated to enhance their natural color (a normal treatment for agates), and are a lustrous sea color, more blue than green, with natural variations in transparency and color.
The fully wire-wrapped links are sterling-filled wire and are complimented by 4mm deep aqua crystals capping the Paters and on the links connecting the center and crucifix.
This rosary can be recreated with the exception of the unique center, but I have many unique and beautiful medals in my collection! Please contact me if you are interested.
